Weekly Journal, Week 4.1

 Journal Week 4 - 1/31/22-2/6/22

Well, this week with my team has been a lot of the same since the beginning of class. No real communication with the undergrad team. I am at a lost of what I should do anymore with getting information from them. I contacted Jake who is the lead for Fizzlings Fun House, and the lead for or almost lead for two other groups on Tuesday. I just wanted to see how the team was doing and to see if there was anything else that they might need me for, other than just documenting the rooms of the game. Furthermore, I also let him know that I was having my kids play the game and would create a write-up of what they thought of the game, but was a little behind on that since my step-daughter who is 5 years old had Covid. He let me know that there was nothing else to do for their team as of right then, but that he had a meeting the next day with his team because they were having some trouble with their programmers and might have something for me then. I never heard anything back from him.

Friday spent time in the meeting with the Game Production, and was glad I had a little downtime at my job to turn the volume up. I listen to the professors talking with the teams and letting them know they should be reaching out to the master students for their games and helping to answer our questions and just seeing if we need anything. It was nice to see the professors talking about us and acknowledging some frustrations some of us have been having with the undergrads students. I was hoping that someone from the undergrads team would reach out to me, but again I am left with no answers or communication from them on Sunday night.

Nice thing that came out of Friday was that Enitza reach out to meet to see how I was doing. She echoed some of the thoughts I was having with the class, too. I remember when she first started at UAT and how excited she was to learn and that she always puts over 110% into her classes, and she was where I am at with this class. We feel like we are outside our comfort zone and losing our minds with this course. I want to help my team, but I feel like the team forgets about us because they don't need us for their grade, and we are the afterthoughts. The team only answer questions somewhat, and that's only when we reach out to them.

    I am frustrated.
